Cons:

the noise level i have been exposed to and dust and chemicals since dermot took over is unheard of . more than twice i needed to be evacuated from my apt due to the reglazing chemical smell entering my apt/ there are many other things i can say but i don't have the time. the last issue is the security of the building . since dermot took over they keep changing the overnight concierge and as a result , anyone can enter the building during 11pm to 7am. as whom ever is there for that particular night doesn't even know who belongs and who doesn't

Pros:

I've loved living here. It's been a great experience compared to other buildings in the area. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, you can't beat the location and the building is well maintained. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new place to live!

Pros:

I have been living at 250 East Houston for over 4 years and since the new management has taken over last year I am very pleased with all the efforts that are being made to update and upgrade the building. The Management team has been excellent and very attentive and responsive (thank you Charlie and Stephen for all your help and efforts). The building Super Luis is exceptional and the maintenance staff as well. Of course the Doormen (and woman) are outstanding and make living at 250 East Houston such a great place. As the building completes its renovations, it will soon become one of the better properties in what is already a fantastic location just a five-minute walk to Whole Foods, the F train, and just a few more to Soho.Mia R.

Pros:

From the moment I walked into the building I knew I wanted to live there AND now that its being renovated its going to be even better! The location, staff, and amenities are top notch. Requests are responded to very quickly and everyone is super friendly. You'll get to know Steven, Charlie, and a lot of the door staff and be blown away at their professionalism and accommodation.

Pros:

I've been living at 250 for over 20 years. Things are a changing and that is the nature of NYC. The new management and owners are doing their best to keep this running smoothly through their renovations and upgrades. The work, although daunting at times are doing their best to accommodate the residents. I trust all will be complete in no time at all. That said, the building is a wonderful place to live and the amenities are a welcomed change. The neighborhood has everything within reach. I do think you just might like the general vibe of the house.

Pros:

I just wanted to take a moment to recap my experience as a resident of both Red Square and the newly branded 250 East Houston. After living in Red Square for a few years I had no idea what to expect when rumors began to circulate about the building being sold. Eventually the news was made public and all tenants received a letter about the sale of the building to Dermot. A few months before my lease was up I was contacted by Charlie to discuss potentially moving into one of the renovated units once they became available. Charlie even worked with me to extend my old lease until the new unit was ready for move-in. The transfer process couldn't have been simpler, and Charlie & Stephen were literally so responsive that my email server wasn't able to keep the replies in chronological order (true story). The transfer was far more convenient than having to move to another building in the area, and obviously Dermot was under no obligation to move me into one of their new units, particularly at the expense of delaying renovating the unit I was occupying at the time. The new gut-renovated units are exponentially better than the old apartments which were quite antiquated and really beginning to show their age. I'm excited to see what becomes of the common areas, particularly the roof which for years was simply barren and has always felt like such a waste of a great large and open space. Thanks again Charlie & Stephen!

Cons:

do you listen to the tenants complaints? you have the worst air conditioners and elevator svc. not a single apartment i've been to has a functioning air conditioner on top of them kicking dust and mold into the apartments. I wanted to dye. Find new svc contract for AC... all your tenants complain...
