Pros:

I love this place. Great location, great and friendly staff. Perhaps i have 2 concerns, the first is i wish they would wash the front area a bit due to people and their pets but that's just New York, the 2nd is considering the cost of rent i wonder how some of my neighbors can afford it but that's probably due to some type of tax abatement. Either way I'm very comfortable here, we have a great view, the gym and terrace are amazing. They're also working on updating the lobby which will be awesome. I love the perks that come with the lyric such as the concierge and discounted equinox membership. Very close to the express train. Short walk to central or riverside park. Check out the pics from the roof top.

When pple say related buildings are good, they don't mean this one. Management is beyond horrible. There's brown water in the building almost daily. No one here cares about residents' needs. If you want a luxury building, go anywhere else.

I rented here for one year. They have a lot of rules that are one-sided. My camera caught a doorman in my apartment while I was away. Do not look for flexibility, politeness nor does management answer their phones

Pros:

As promised, I said I would review again once the windows had been cleaned. To my surprise, I had a phone call this morning asking for permission for the window cleaners to enter the apartment and do their magic. Yay! Whether it was by coincidence or management noticed the yelp review, I am SO happy with the results. Thank you Truffles!!

Pros:

People who work there are precious gems. Antonio, Cornell, Mokesh, Noel, Asia, Omar, the other Omar, Simon, Cesar, Levi, Becky -- I'm sure I've misspelled some names, and missed others. But you guys are wonderful and I'm so glad to have had you in my life for two years. The people at the club were also sweethearts, although I didn't hang there as much.

Cons:

However, the management of Truffles is not good at all. There are so many issues with the building that are not being addressed. We had a mouse, we had a leak, and all of that in a penthouse. And while of course people were sent to plaster here, or cover there, it did not resolve the problem, because the building is structurally imperfect. There are many issues to come. But no one cares, because it's a money cow, and they'll keep renting it out to people who couldn't care less for their surroundings, or to those who don't know better, and charge them a ton.On the plus side, the views! The communal roof is pretty remarkable, but there are bro parties too often. And the fact that the mail room doubles as a convenience store, which also takes dry cleaning, was extra convenient. But on the downside, again, throughout all of our time there, I had HATED the dark floors which made dust so obvious and seemed to be made from play do, because they were so easy to indent. Whoever made the decision to put these floors in was not thinking clearly.

Cons:

Horrible management. The day I moved in, apartment was not cleaned, not painted, with previous tenant's stuff lying around. Appliances were greasy and bathroom was dirty. I had to stay outside for most of the day when they paint/clean it on my move-in day. The painted smell was so bad that I had to stay at a hotel. I was reassured by several staff member that the manager knew about the situation and would contact me. It's been four days and I still haven't spoken with the manager (who promised to call yesterday btw). Very irresponsible management.

Super dirty apartment when moving in! Irresponsible property managers!Took 3 week to have some one come over to clean the window shades. Dirty window, and there is no one to clean it. Apparently the room is not cleaned when someone moves out. Don't live here!

Cons:

This is a really great location, but after a year they raised my rent by $200. It was already too much for a studio, so a $200 increase was a bit obscene. I know - WAAA it's too expensive to live in Manhattan. The thing is, Related is owned by Stephen M. Ross. The guy is worth $6.5 Billion and he owns 95% of the Miami Dolphins. I don't like when people say they're a great tenant, but I never complained about anything, say hello to all the staff and took care of them at holiday time. I counter-offered with the same rent or $50 more, but they were determined to increase it more significantly. I'm really disappointed and I'm sure this is part of an algorithm that takes into account the inconvenience of moving vs. putting up with a large increase. They have this down to a science.Mr. Ross donates hundreds of millions of dollars to all sorts of organizations that honor him for his generosity. $1.1 Billion to John Hopkins University. Some $300 Million to the University of Michigan. That's lovely, but he wouldn't be able to do any of that if he wasn't systematically raising rent on hard-working people annually. Mr. Ross also owns Equinox Fitness Clubs. His wife is 30 years younger and is a famous jewelry designer. It's just a bit sickening that a company generating so much revenue can't see the value in treating their tenants with a bit of respect and loyalty. It's all about the numbers for them. And I just learned that Mr. Ross is a major contributor to horrible politicians like Mitt Romney, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Mitch McConnell. I guess it's good that I'll be moving away because I don't like the idea of my money going to politicians who deny climate change, oppose rights for women, oppose raising the minimum wage, and who support unnecessary wars. I hope you'll consider living somewhere else.
