By far the best experience I have had when in comes to anything having to do with NYC apartments! From the day I moved in, everyone I have dealt with (the doorman, the maintenance staff and the management office) have been incredibly kind and helpful.I had about one thousand questions within my first few weeks of living in the building and Kate Sullivan was such an huge help. Not only did she always sound genuinely happy to help (something I think many of us can agree can be rare in NYC real estate), she went above and beyond and really made my move/transition into the building a breeze. The building is beautiful...Some construction going on but that will be over soon.Amazing common areas and gym! Even a Peloton bike!!! I feel like I am at a fancy hotel sometimes.Really loving this place so far...
Great location, great staffThe management is very responsive and tries really hard to address issues. There are still some issues related to the ongoing renovation. Once it is completed, the building will be a five star place to live.
Management has reached out to me on two occasions about my review, which I appreciate. Here is an update:1. Elevators: Still dirty and with protective cushioning for the construction activities. 2. Construction workers: Still slowing down the main elevators and not using the service elevators. Very frustrating, especially during the morning rush.3. Lobby: Renovations done. AC turned on. I think the old lobby was more attractive.4. Lobby Flooring: Protective coating added to prevent dirt stains.5. Hallways: Dirty carpeting and torn wallpaper remain unchanged (18th floor). Supposed to be renovated soon.6. Management staff: Pleasant and making efforts to improve the building. Definitely proactive in keeping residents informed on happenings by email. This was not the case 1+ years ago when the renovations work began. (There was a change in Community Managers and it made a big difference).7. Hallway air conditioning: Summer came and left, but the vents are still blowing hot air. I've put in several service requests, but nothing. Response I get is that parts are on back order. It's been more than four months (!). 8. Doormen: Pleasant and helpful. I'm looking forward to the renovations finally being finished.

i dont normally leave reviews but this needs to be said to potential tenants- this building is not what i was expecting at all. the finishings are cheap, everything keeps breaking, and dust accumulates in the apartment at a rapid pace. there is also so much annoying construction and hallways are not presentable for a "luxury" building. they only have one normal elevator. the other is a service elevator. they always shut off the water which is very inconvenient. also the management keeps changing every 2 months and that is shady and weird. management will flat out lie and deceive you. if breaking a lease wasnt so annoying i would have left by now. cant wait to be out of here in 4 months!! do not move here until they get everything under control. this place has potential in the future, but it is not worth the price or the headache for what i am currently getting...
I love the attention and community at Avalon. From the first time that I visited, I could tell that everyone in the building - from the community consultants (James, Ginger, and Kfir), to the front desk security (Michael, Peter, Will, Francisco, and Jonathan), to the superintendents (Sal and Nigel) - take pride in their work and strive to keep everything running smoothly throughout the day. The apartment itself is amazing - the views are beautiful, the units are quiet, and the amenities are fantastic! I love coming back from work to a place that truly feels like home from the moment that I come in past the revolving doors!
