Pros:

When my partner and I started looking for a new place to live, the entire experience was horrible. From companies who were hard to contact to agents who wasted our time showing homes that did not meet our requirements; we endured it all. Our apartment hunt did not take a turn for the better until we came across Goldfarb. As soon as we submitted an application we were contacted by a more than helpful agent by the name of Michael T. Michael explained to us what documents were necessary and even arranged for us to view an apt. that still had a tenant. Literally, everyone in the building was so nice. The front desk agent contacted the tenant, who then let us view his apartment AND took us down to the gym and laundry room so we can see the amenities of the building. After this experience we had our heart set on the building. Michael and all the people of Goldfarb were absolutely amazing. We said yes and are in the process of signing our new lease. =DD Thank you !!

WARNING: Do not rent from this realtor company! The apartment I was interested in was in high demand but I was one of the few applicants that was approved right away. After the apartment viewing I was ready to sign the lease with two exceptions (that fyi were not deal breakers). I constantly emailed my "leasing specialist," M. Tavarez that failed to respond to ANY of my emails. I left kind voicemails and sent various emails. I could not get a hold of him no matter what channel of communication I was trying. I then attempted to have my case transferred to a different specialist because he was doing such a poor job. She claimed to have forwarded my email to her manager but when I returned the call, my case was still under Tavarez. How hard can transferring a case be, right? I ended up losing the apartment because someone had already signed the lease. Tavarez failed to even notify me that the apartment was no longer available. I'm not upset that I lost the apartment that I wanted I am frustrated with the incompetence and lack of communication from the "specialists." I wish I had read the reviews prior to committing time, money, and energy into this company.

The staff is very incompetent when showing apartments. I'm not sure if the professionalism varies depending on the Manhattan and Bronx offices but I went to 2 different open houses for their "luxury" rentals in the Bronx, the person showing the unit didn't know his a**hole from his elbow. Their sister buildings on the Grand Concourse are over priced and have ridiculous bills that more than half of NYC especially the bronx doesn't pay for. The Agent informed me that once my lease started I couldn't turn on the ConEd until the new year - FALSEAll utilities are grouped with the rent until that time - FALSEThe building has a contract with DirectTV so no other cable or internet providers are allowed in the building - True but retardedYou have a water bill, YES YOU ARE READING CORRECTLY you have to pay a separate water bill -True You have to have a 750 Credit score - False it's the bronx people he should've known that solely on the boroughAnd last but not least he quoted the apartment was going for $2500 - FALSE FALSE AND FALSE the listing was STREETEASY in plain site for $1950The other open house had a very similar feel minus the water bill, credit score convo, and utilities grouped in with my rent. My guess is either the agent was brand spanking new, or he probably wasn't an agent at all just some random person from the office they gave the keys to conduct the showing, or the leasing office coached this idiot thinking someone will bite and they'll scam additional monies out of a tenant to pocket themselves for the holidays. This all took place back in Nov 2016. Regardless of all of the issues listed above I decided not to lease with Goldfarb all together since both open houses seemed very shady. #I'llPass

Be careful about giving Goldfarb Properties money for an application fee. See their very late reply to me and take heed. I advise anyone who pays the application fee, meets the criteria, and is denied to consult a housing discrimination lawyer. You probably will have a good case. I did a consult but did not follow through because I have been busy. Just want to give people the heads up. The apartment listings and availability also needs to be investigated. I have a hunch that the apartments they advertise are not available. Thank you.

Pros:

On a personal note, I'd like to say that I truly appreciated the agents prompt response, kindness and sincerity. I've read many great reviews on google about this company and their customer service- good honest reviews from people who got the apartment they wanted and those who didn't. In New York, finding a home is stressful and competitive so I know it's challenging on their end. None the less, I appreciated their kindness and I know that everyone ends up where they are supposed to. Signed the lease! Love how you can apply online.

Do not rent from this company. They have a few buildings on Pelham parkway labeled as luxury rentals but don't be fooled. Everything in the prior reviews is true. 1) Rental office is difficult to get a hold of. They ignore your complaints unless you call multiple times and overall is terrible. 2) They don't keep their promises. We were told the laundry room would be ready by august. Its not October and the laundry room is still closed.3) They didn't tell us there would be renovations right above our apartment. We have to put up with very loud construction noises during the day 7 days a week. Even on SATURDAY and SUNDAYS. We filed multiple complaints but nothing has changed. Its been over 3 month now.Update: They are also very stingy with the heat in the winter so be prepared to spend extra $$ to buy a space heater or freeze. In short: DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.

Wow, I am so mad at myself for not reading all of these reviews before deciding to rent with Goldfarb Properties. My experience was (and is still) the worst I ever had as far as renting apartments in the Bronx/NYC. Even if this company approves your application, I strongly advise you to not get involved with them. I have seven other friends living in this 1770 GC building and four of them had negative experiences. 1- I confirm that the people from the leasing office are very rude (as mentioned in the other comments). One of them was named Marcus and was clearly and unsubtly trying to get rid of me over the phone when I talked to him about a problem in the apartment. The doormen however, are ALL very respectful and they are doing their job perfectly! 2- It seems that it is impossible to get in touch with the maintenance department by phone. I had to go to the office several times in order to talk to someone from maintenance. The woman of maintenance is not helpful, but the guys (TJ for example) are. 3- It's been more than 2 months that I am complaining about VERY loud banging noises coming from my heater, waking me up at night (around 12AM, 1AM, 5AM, 7AM). It took 1 month of begging and harassing them before they send someone specialize to look at it and ''work on it''. However, the problem is still not resolved. I would expect at least some sort of compensation from the leasing office, I am even considering to break my lease because of this noise; but the leasing office wants me to pay the fee of course. Now I am back at waiting for them to try and fix it. This is simply unacceptable after more than 2 months. 4- Also, you can't control the heater. One of my friend's heater is very hot, while the other one is not heating enough. 5- Two other friends found rats in their studios. Personally, it is to the point that rats now are the least of my problems with this apartment. 6- A flood in my bathroom twice during rainy weather. In conclusion, the apartments look nice, but the foundations are still old. If you are lucky enough to have a free-problem apartment where you don't have to reach the leasing office or the maintenance department, then enjoy. Otherwise, and in all objectivity, renting with Goldfarb Properties is a big risk that is not worth taking.

First, as an undercover consumer I've tried numerous times to receive clear requirements in order to be able to proceed with the renting process. Every one gave me different requirements, they want you to pay there application fees with no guarantee that they will even assist you in finding a place or accepting your application with a no refund clause. I was told combine salary has to be above 50k annually after speaking to another associate of theirs I was told 50k annually individually. Seems pretty steep for a studio rental for $999 and two people living in the studio. Then there customer service lacks the communication skills and proper training to stand behind such high standards. They have beautiful properties but lack any drive to help there clients. They are very big on discrimination as far as to who they go the extra mile for. Don't expect anyone to respond to you or your requests. I give them one star because of the properties they have to offer. They need to get a better customer service staff and be more involved with there clients.

I honestly feel as if I'm wasting my time writing this but my experience has been so horrible that I felt the need to vent. Goldfarb property management is a name and nothing else. Every person I have spoken to in person or on the phone is rude and disrespectful and I have been hung up on when asking simple questions. Their leasing office at 1770 Grand concourse is a joke. Nobody seems to know what is going on. I payed my money and waited three weeks for a response. Finally on my day off I decided to call in as it has been 3 weeks and no answer from anyone even after several calls and messages to their offices. I was greeted by an attitude and a person who seems like they were bothered by the fact that I even called and then hung up on when I asked to speak with a higher up. Being it was normal business hours I decided to stop by the leasing office. I walked in the office only to be told that I had never called in and the two women working there had not spoken to any one with my name even after I knew the name of the woman I spoke to and she was sitting in front of me. Either way the woman claimed she had no way of accessing the status of my application. And I would have to speak with the leasing agent. When I asked for his contact info somehow she was able to tell my my application was processed the previous day. Mind you I applied 3 weeks ago and was charged 3 weeks ago. She explained that he doesn't work often and I would have to be patient for a response. I asked if now that I took the time to physically come in could she attempt to contact him for me as I have been unsuccessful. She then told me I was harassing her and she was calling the police!?!? WHAT!? Another employee came from a different office and asked the problem. When I told him I simply wanted a status update he said sure no problem and took me to his desk. He called the leasing agent and surprisingly got an answer on the first try!!! He asked the agent to call me and sure enough a few minutes later he called my cell phone while I was still in the building. I introduced myself. Asked a status update. And to my surprise he told me I did not qualify for the apartment I selected. According to the property management group the income requirement is 40X the rent. I have provided W2 and recent pay stubs proving I make well above the income requirement. When I mentioned this I was told there is no need to be rude.....???? I asked if the credit was an issue. I am in the mid 700's with several paid autos. He told me no but they have their own calculations to determine eligibility. Like what!? I make enough. My credit is excellent. What other calculation can u legally use? I digress. Either way I was told I would receive a call later that day explaining why I was rejected which is required by law whenever u are denied in a credit situation. Much to my surprise again!!!! I was told I had been approved and could move in immediately....what changed!? The fact they weren't dealing with an idiot? The fact that I know my rights and the law? I googled the company name and the reviews are everything I went thru!!!! Over and over and over again. You would think this company didn't need or want your business the way the treat people!
