Extremely discriminatory and vile management. If you're a women please be warned as these people will treat you like dirt. Most of the positive reviews are from friends of staff.

Cons:

The management office has been unhelpful. I have 3 separate calls into them and not one has been returned. The calls just go to voicemail. Very frustrating. I think that says a lot about a place.

Friendly staff and beautiful views. With William Vale and Wythe avenue in walking distance this place is a gem to work home from.

This is a review of the leasing company attached to the building. My partner and I viewed apartments in 101 Bedford and ultimately decided not to move there given how comfortable the broker is with diminishing women. The brokers right to practice his religion does not supersede my right to be treated as an equal in a place of business. He refused to shake my hand (I'm a woman) and proceeded to shake the hands of every man he encountered, even going as far to offer "double shakes" to men as to make up for not shaking my hand. This is utterly inexcusable and offensive - treating me as less than equal is NOT a joke. His religious practices have no place in a secular venue and I feel strongly that his supervisor should instruct him to politely decline all handshakes in the workplace moving forward. If he would like to explain that his faith prohibits physical contact with everyone, that is fine too. Singling women out is NOT an acceptable practice outside of his personal religious institution.

My significant other and I have lived at 101 Bedford for almost 3 years now. In January we decided to move into a larger on the other side of the building. The apartment is beautiful and we love the space. Once April hit, the tree outside our window started to become overgrown and needed to be trimmed. The tree branches block the windows in our living room as well as bedroom from opening. The isn't only an issue for the windows opening, but it also blocks ALL SUNLIGHT from coming through. For the amount of money we pay for this unit, you should be able to open the windows and not have to turn the lights on when you wake up due to the sunlight being blocked from a massive overgrown tree. The worst part of this entire situation... I've followed up with Blimie and Faigly since June 2nd. I've showed them photos -- they've stated that they've seen the tree and it needs to be trimmed. There have been 30+ emails sent back in regards to this tree. I've never been so frustrated by a management company in my life. Every time I speak with them, they have some excuse as to why the tree trimmer did not show up. Whether he pulled the wrong permit, he's unreliable, they're using another company, it's too cold outside, he'll be here next week. It's always SOME excuse. Not to mention.. they NEVER follow up with you, even when they say they're going to. When you mention the situation, it's almost as if it's the first time they've heard about it. The entire staff at 101 is incredibly kind and often go out of their way to help you. The management office on the other hand is beyond unresponsive, unprofessional and clearly can't handle getting together a team of people to TRIM A TREE FOR OVER 8 MONTHS!

Cons:

I've lived in various apartment complexes in NYC, Austin, and DC for the last 10 years of my life and I've never been so disappointed in a building ever. I've been living here for 2 years and I can't wait to get out. The apartments look nice, but are extremely poorly built. I had a cabinet door just randomly fall off, not once, but twice. I'm lucky it didn't hit me or my dog when it fell. The second time around it's been almost 6 months and despite talking to management about it several times, it still has yet to be fixed. One of the elevators in the elevator bank constantly stops working. The walls are pretty thin. The management company is just out to get your money, they don't care the least bit about their tenants' wellbeing or quality of life. They will show you all the great amenities on your tour, and forget to tell you that to use ANY of them, you will need to pay a large amount of money a year to use them. The chances of any of the grills on the roof working is about 25%, unless you want to pay an extra $250 to reserve a grill party area. I could honestly go on and on. Just don't live here. Look elsewhere. There are so many better apartments out there, at a better price, without extremely poor and dishonest management.

Cons:

Do not be fooled, the landlord is ruthless, will take every dime you have, will hide and be dishonest and unresponsive. The front of house are great but they live in fear of being fired. There are two sides to this buildng but #1 remember it's a business, they DO NOT care. There are endless lame events which you are forced to pay for, lose a laundry card and it's $10 for a blank one, on it goes. It's an artless, soulless overpriced and garish shell for people with no imagination and too much $$. If you want a symbol of modern Williamsburg, this is it.

Pros:

I've lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn for 25 years in too many rental apartments to count. 100% of my landlords were evil, neglectful or both. This place is such a breath of fresh air. If you have an issue you note it on the app and it's magically fixed usually by the next day. The building is spotless and the amenities are incredible. If there were 3 bedroom or bigger apartments I'd be happy here for the rest of my life.

Pros:

Been living here for 3 months and the building is amazing with unbelieveble amenities, but the best part is the team that works here, from the Joe that welcomes you to the building and makes it easy for you to lease, to Megan, the lifestyle director that organizes social activities all the time, from movie nights, live music and painting sessions! All maintenance and concierges are super polite and friendly! Great people living here and great area!

Pros:

101 Bedford is simply beyond... the amenities are amazing, the doormen quickly feel like besties while providing 5 star service, and the apartment is gorgeous. Thank you Joe Ackerman for being so helpful in our move and consistently a happy face around the building.PS - the $600/year amenity fee is completely worth it as a gym membership anywhere else is more than that, plus you get a movie theater, biz center, pool, game room, roof top with grills, etc.Couldn't recommend more!

Pros:

Great building, nice amenities and solid location.

Cons:

Building management is horrendous and dishonest. You have to pay additional for said amenities. Maintenance isn't done on time or at all. Attempts to add in additional, arbitrary fees on rent.Don't do it to yourself.

Cons:

Stay away.Went to view the apartments during an open house. We were coldly met by Joe Ackerman, the leasing agent. He didn't say hello, didn't ask our names, just immediately said, "What is your budget and when can you move in?" Was rude, impolite, and felt untrustworthy during our entire visit. I would absolutely not trust someone like this guy. He couldn't give me a straightforward or non-condescending answer when it came to any of my questions regarding noise, groceries, pets in the building. It felt very uncomfortable. We will look elsewhere and hope we do not run into someone as shifty as this guy. No thanks.

Pros:

Ive lived at 101 Bedford for over a year now, and I don't know how anyone could complain or give anything but high remarks for the building, its amenities, and its staff. Joe Ackerman helped us find our current 1 bedroom, and he was extremely friendly, straightforward, and easy to work with- he is the man! It disappoints me that people give lackluster reviews to a building that offers an Equinox-style gym (with a steam room and hot tub), an amazing rooftop, a movie theatre, and about 10 other crazy things you would never dream of having access to at any other apartment complex. It makes me wonder where else people have lived that make 101 Bedford seem average. Because it is anything but that.

Pros:

I have lived in this building just over one year and intend to move within the building to a higher floor. The building is run efficiently and the common areas are kept very clean by a seemingly tireless staff. Maintenance requests have always been dealt with promptly. The building is less than two years old and there were a few teething problems regarding the use of the amenities, in particular recognizing the need to develop rules for using the (stunning) roof deck. The pool/hot tub/ steam room and changing rooms are pleasant and tastefully designed. These are the only amenities I use, so I can't really speak for the gym or the playroom etc. It is worth noting that the amenities are not run by the building's management and are run by a separate entity. The apartment finishes are high quality and large windows allow for plenty of light, even on the lower floors. The windows are very sound proof but when they are open you can hear traffic. Apartment building living is not my thing but this is where we are for now for various reasons and I feel that we did well to find this building, its location and the proximity to McCarren Park. I would also like to add, having read a few of the other reviews, that the building definitely accepts applications from non-US residents because, like us, there are many people living in the building from places other than the US. Our application was processed with no hitches and the management have always been polite and friendly to us.

Pros:

Firstly - we don't move in until mid-Feb. We did a few tours of this place prior to signing up. We were looking for a doorman building but were pretty surprised by the level of amenities on offer. The finish on the apartments looked good and the locations is brilliant (right on the park and near to the L) so we decided to sign up. We'd read the reviews and have low expectations from the building hospitality - I hope we're wrong - the building we're moving from had a great vibe. The process has been made easy by Joe, he gave us a number of showings, some of which were last minute. He's been quick to reply to calls, texts and emails. He's been informative and really easy to get on with - if living here matches up to dealing with Joe that will be great. We'll update this post after a few months of living there to see if that is the case!
