One of the best rooftop decks in New York! The views are incredible! Very quiet. Elevators are fast, nice finishes & nice amenities. Really a wonderful place.

I've been living here for 2 months I had a problem with the heating system no working well. I called the management and spoke to a lady named Arine she made sure I was comfortable in my apartment she got some on to fix it. She's was very professional on the phone. Thank you!!!!

Cons:

Do not move here.Since we moved in two months ago we have had more maintenance issues than in the last 5 years of living at my previous apartment. The superintendent is great - Ric is a superstar. He runs around the apartments fixing issues, but he doesn't have a big team since the management company is cheap. The finishes are cheap and the appliances look like they are from the 80s even though the building was built 8 years ago. Dealing with the management is very frustrating. Some of the doormen are great, while others (overnight) couldn't care less and spend all their time on the phone. Don't get locked into a lease with these guys.

Pros:

I'm currently finishing my 2 year lease at Townsend 37. I can genuinely say that my time here has been exceptionally pleasant! The doormen/management staff are extremely professional. Dry clean/mail service are excellent as they always make sure to notify me immediately when something is ready to be picked up. Additionally, any maintenance requests are addressed promptly and I have never had to wait overnight for a request to be completed. The rooftop is breathtaking so be sure to ask the leasing office for a tour up there if you're looking for a new apartment building to move into. Overall great experience 5/5.

Pros:

The only plus were the friendly doormen.

Cons:

Don't live here. The walls are paper thin, management is horribly unresponsive, elevators constantly don't work, and the supers will use/use up your things without a word. It was a nice touch when my roommate and I were bickering about who used the last paper towel because we still had at least a half roll left, only to realize that the super must have used it up (seriously though? Half a roll??). You could literally hear neighbors' conversations through the bathroom ducts, it was pretty creepy.

Pros:

The only good thing about this building is that they allow you to build a full wall, which is getting rare in NYC.

Cons:

The super and leasing agent are extremely rude. The doormen used to be really nice and friendly. They would greet you by name and hand you your packages as you walk in. But management fired them all and replaced them with people who can't even speak English and ignore you when you need something. The apartments are smaller than average (500 sqft for 1 br vs 600 sqft in other buildings). The floor-to-ceiling windows are nice, but the blinds are transparent and useless. If you are at home from 12pm-3pm you will literally get sunburned even with the blinds down.

Pros:

My roommate and I just moved in last week. We would definitely recommend this place. Especially appreciate leasing office Melissa's help. She is very nice, helpful, and patient. She helped us successfully completed our application, moving in documents review. Also helped my roommate staying one more night at her previous apartment which is also in the same company as Townsend is, so that my roommate did not need to move out in a hurry. Elevators are fast, doormen are all very helpful and nice. My apartment has a very good view overlook midtown Manhattan.

Pros:

Just finished signing a lease for a unit in this building. Melissa in the leasing office is amazing. She's super nice and accommodating, and handled my & my roommates' very complicated situation (I needed to pay several months' worth of rent up front, and so did my roommates, who are both international students) with speed and humor. She seems to genuinely love her job and was knowledgeable about everything I asked her about. The leasing process was very fast. I'm definitely impressed!

Pros:

I lived at this place for over 3 years and just recently moved out. The reason we lived here is because they allowed us to build a full wall while many other places did not. In terms of the price, I think this place is slightly more expensive than other places nearby with the same amenities. The quality of the apartment is also only ok.

Cons:

The walls started peeling and there were many other issues that we needed to call maintenance for. The only good thing was the super did respond to maintenance requests rather quickly and that was nice, but i felt like there were many more issues than my last apartment. One reason this place doesn't get one star is because the doormen here are pretty good. The ones that are here during the week actually remember who you are and talk to you and are very helpful. The worst part about this place is the leasing and management offices. They are super rude and sometimes while you are emailing them back and forth, they just stop responding when they feel like they don't want to answer your question. You have to repeatedly email them the same question for them to respond. Also, it's super hard to find their contact information. Another issue is that when I was transferring my lease over to another tenant, the leasing office emailed us on a Saturday asking if we could sign the lease Sunday or Monday. Aside from the fact that they wouldn't answer my question of whether we could sign at different times or not because they said to schedule a time when we'd all be free, I found out on Monday that the management office was closed on Sunday so they couldn't even have prepared the lease for us. When I went in on Monday (AGAIN), the lady in there straight up lied to my face and said she never sent that email asking if we wanted to sign Sunday. I literally almost pulled up the email to show her, but then who knows what they would have done, so I didn't.

Pros:

pros: I have luckily experiences GOOD communication with management and leasing office via EMAIL. many reviews suggest the opposite.I feel that the super (jerry) does a pretty good job.KILLER rooftop view

Cons:

cons: no buidlg provided free wifi on roofAWFUL shades. I HATE sunlight, so mornings are a b--- for me waking up. because 37th st feeds right into lincoln entrance, there is darn near ALWAYS a traffic jam on the street. there is ALWAYS a fee for lockouts (the metropolis on 44th st does not enforce this part of the lease agreement).whoever disigned bedroom closet was under the influence... how the hell do u properly hang a dress in there?while a nice master bathroom, (in a 2 bedroom apt)... its TOO big... id rather have had the closet space------side note: please note that the men in lobby are lobby attendants, NOT doormen. if you need help, say so.
