Pros:

We lived here for almost two years and loved everything about this place. The staff is AMAZING. The doormen are always super friendly and equally friendly to our dog. If you submit a repair request, they fix it ASAP. The rooftop, gym, office, and entertainment room are always clean and not crowded. Highly Recommend this place to anyone looking in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Pros:

This building has by far exceeded my expectations. Their price is fairly well and better than other buildings that are comparable. I prefer a management property over a landlord! The leasing process was quick, the amount of space you get is livable. Yes everyone has a dog but it has never kept me up. Roof top is functional, furniture is good for it being used outside. Have never had a issue with water, gas or light bulb changes or there being a need for repairs except one time for our ice machine. They came quickly and fixed it. You often see maintenance keeping up with small repairs, wear and tear. many people live here.Front staff is pleasant, Jennifer was very welcoming to the hundreds of questions we had when signing. Great location by F and G. Park is across the street. Yes it's next to a horse stable but the smell and flies are only a bother sometimes, not enough to make you move out. They at least pick up after the horses.

Pros:

We have had a great experience so far living here. It was a very lucky last minute find, as we were one day away from signing a different lease when we saw a listing in this building. Jennifer, who showed the apartment was professional and prompt in her responses. She was extremely helpful afterwards as well, providing us with information before we even asked (regarding building website, etc). No regrets and we are so happy since our move. We have cats and this is a beautiful pet friendly building. It is one of the few that does not require pet deposits. They have a cute dog wash for dog owners downstairs. My favorite part has to be the roof deck. It's huge and has a smart layout so it feels private and the views are perfection.

Pros:

My family has lived at The Kestrel a little over a year. The building is run extremely well by a friendly, caring and proactive Resident Manager -Nic. He sets the tone for a warm atmosphere and responds immediately to any needs we have; always with a smile! The porters and front desk security are extremely helpful and friendly, going out of their way for us regularly. We enjoy access to bike storage, the gym, media room and being so close to Prospect Park.We love the building and the neighborhood. Our 9yr old son says he'd like to stay forever!

Pros:

Just happened to look up the reviews on Yelp and was shocked. It clearly doesn't represent the building. Having read the reviews, I feel compelled to write a review of my own. We moved into the Kestrel in May and are delighted to call this our home. The apartment building is very well managed. From the realtor who worked with us- Jennifer Segalla, the building manager-Nick, the maintenance person, all the doormen to the building porters, everyone is very friendly and on top of things. We moved from living in Park Slope for over 6 years. We love all the amenities this building has to offer. The gym, the media room, game room, roof common areas and the cabanas are all great. the Kestrel has an online system where we put in any service request and it is attended to very promptly. We have been extremely satisfied with our new home and hope to enjoy it for the next few years.

Pros:

We absolutely love living in The Kestrel - the whole team is amazing from A-Z. Our broker, Jennifer Segalla was lovely to work with and was on top of everything before, during and after move in. The building Manager is also on topof everything. We had a little leak, submitted a maintenance request and the team was there to fix it with tools in hand within the hour. This has never happened anywhere else we have lived. Our apartment is serene and functions perfectly well. The double-pane windows keeps our abode quiet when we want it and the walls are so thick, you don't hear anything from other apartments. Every part of the building is maintained impeccably and we are crazy for amenities so we use it all: gym, sauna, roof deck, parking, pet grooming area, storage, bike storage... oh, and did I mention we finally have a washer/dryer/dishwasher in unit?!!?The area is wonderful, too. Being just a couple of blocks from the quaintest part of Prospect Park is awesome especially b/c we have a very active 2-yr old dog. We are very happy to call the Kestrel our home for at least 2 years. Thanks to Jennifer and the whole team for our beautiful home

Pros:

This apartment has been nothing short of perfect for my husband and I. We moved from Prospect Heights, and a terrible landlord situation to The Kestrel and have been so happy ever since! Jennifer Segalla showed us the building--she is kind, attentive, and thorough. Nick is a great super, and Frankie (usually at the front desk) is the best! Decent gym, beautiful apartments, and we can't wait to use the roof now that its warmer weather. Seriously, we love this place! Move in!

This apartment (and the building) are everything we hoped it would be. Great amenities. Very friendly and responsive staff. We couldn't be happier and we've been here since February 1st.

Cons:

This place is overpriced for what it is and is constantly in a state of repair. The roof is a complete joke, its been off limits for most of my time living here and when it is available the grills don't work and the furniture looks like it's about to fall apart. The amazing part if they have the audacity to try and charge for the "bungalows" which gives you a semi private space where you can invite friends over so they can let you know how sorry they are that you got scammed into moving into this building.I will confirm another reviewers note about hot/cold water not working properly. I've had times where I had to leave the shower running for 20 minutes before it was warm enough to step inside. Every other week someone has to replace a light bulb in my kitchen and when you look at the fit and finish you notice the sloppy paint job and all the crooked fixtures. But probably the worse bit is the noise. You can hear all your neighbors dogs barking (everyone here has a dog and they all love to bark when left alone) along with domestic disputes, crying babies and the like. That's technically not management's fault but the way the building is built but it's still annoying.

Pros:

I agree with a previous post that this building has changed for the better. We have lived here since the beginning, and have witnessed the growing pains from being a new building that needed a lot of work, and also having a super and staff that seemed overwhelmed and undertrained. Since the new super began, it feels like a brand new place. Everything is clean, from the elevators to the hallways to the sidewalks out front, and the staff is friendly and well-trained. While in the past it would often take days or weeks to get a response for the most minor repair request, now they are immediately attended to. The overall feeling here is very professional and everything we were hoping for when we first moved in. We love it and are glad we stayed!

Pros:

While the pictures a previous yelper posted are very disturbing, I can assure you this building is no longer on that condition. The new super, Nick, has done a wonderful job getting this building in tip-top shape. My personal experience has been more than satisfactory. I have placed several work orders all of which have been attended to and rectified on the same day. As a frequent user of the play area I am pleased at the way it is cleaned and reorganized each day by the staff. The hallways, trash rooms, lobby, and even the sidewalk out front are all cleaned and maintained daily! Nick, the porters, and the doormen are all extremely polite and genuinely enjoy their job. Overall I'm very happy I made the decision to live here despite the negative reviews. Beyond the building the neighborhood is charming and very family friendly.

Pros:

We really like living at the Kestrel. The rent is competitive for what you get with amenities compared to the surrounding buildings (we compared quite a few when we were looking). It has its kinks like any new business. It's a new building, the maintenance situation hasn't been fully sorted out or operationalized but the doormen are great, the people who live there are lovely, and it has a sense of community.

Cons:

I took off one star because management needs to get it together.

Cons:

Not a good place to live. Things break often. When someone comes to fix a problem, they often make it worse or cause a new problem. I would not recommend living here. The rent is way higher than it is worth!
