Wow...what a disappointing apartment. This is regarding my late March visit to this apartment as a prospective tenant. Hey Management, if you are gonna charge Manhattan apartment prices in Spanish Harlem, at least provide a top of the line apartment. This is not the case here. Between the sub-par apartments, the area, and the overtly hostile leasing agent, I would NEVER give a dime to this apartment. Oh and on the walk down First Avenue from the 6 train, I passed a candle vigil on the ground for a recent death in the neighborhood. This was one block north of the apartment on First Avenue. Having lived 6 years in Bushwick, I know a candle memorial...either someone was killed by a car accident or a homicide. Be aware...this is NOT an UES apartment. Head south 15 or so blocks to reach safer areas. Viewing the Apartment: After calling the office number for 2 weeks with no phone call return-left two voicemails... I decided to walk in during business hours. Since the building does not post prices online, you have no idea coming in what the price point will be. Oh by the way, the prices when I visited were $2750-3800. Once I arrive, the front desk person calls the leasing office. She puts the phone on speakerphone and the woman goes on to deny that I called her and said 'What is your price range?'. I tell her that it is flexible and what do your apartments start at? She then says, "Well how much money do you make and I will tell you what you can afford?' WHAT???? WTF???? Have some class! If you are too lazy to leave your office, do not ask me on a speakerphone personal details!!! I asks point blank if I can see what is available and she says yes. Does she come down??? No. She sends the maintenance man with his white terrier dog. He was kind enough. The apartment space was medium sized. Nothing special. It was under renovations..see pics. The building looked right at another part of the building..U-shaped. No real view. The building is not tall. NOTHING...I mean nothing, could sell me an Aspen apartment after this terrible experience of customer service. Combine this with the rough area that it is located.....NO WAY. PASS. Don't waste your time...pass on this one. Oh fyi...applications are handled in house ...even worse.
