Algin Management

Current Tenant: 1-2 Years

Pros:

They are fast about fixing things

Cons:

Doormen are lazy
They come up with excuses as to why things are broker
they dont actually care that something is broken

Other comments:

i had THREE floods, we're talking HUGE floods, i had thousands of dollars worth of damage. Not just once, not just twice, BUT THREE TIMES.

The management company literally took 3 months to answer me, they were not even sorry, did not offer to pay for anything, instead they wanted to give me a 300$ credit and free access to the gym and roof. I am an excellent tenant, i always pay on time and did not deserve this type of treatment.

Current Tenant: 2015 - 2018

Pros:

Building staff is really nice. When you have a problem in your building they usually fix it right away. Modern kitchen. Big space for price.

Cons:

Staff doesn’t help when you have bags/groceries etc. You have to pay extra for gym and pool.

Former Tenant: 2014 - 2017

Pros:

The building is great for new families, students, grads and young people just moving to New York City. The one bedroom is a great size with a really large bedroom. I could fit a bed and a couch in the room with plenty of space left for all of my stuff. The two bedrooms have terraces which is great. The location is unbeatable. It is in the center of downtown and walking distance from every neighborhood. Washington Square park is steps away, as is the exciting MacDougal street. There is so much good food nearby it's insane, and 8th street has everything you need in terms of upkeep. Hair salon, nail salon, waxing, walgreens etc. The location and spacious apartments are mainly what make this building so amazing.

Cons:

It is a very large building so there are a lot of people that live in it. It can get crowded and the elevators take a very long during rush hour. The doormen are not very helpful. I used to come in holding a million bags and boxes and they would just stare at me and almost laugh as opposed to offering to help. The pool on the roof is cool but they make you pay a membership fee which is utterly ridiculous based on the high rent we already have to pay, and it is only open memorial to labor day, even if the weather is good. The gym is inside of an empty apartment and I never used it but it looked sub-par.
