Cons:

Want to live with al Sharpton? Move here. Dishonest management & overpriced for what you get. I overpaid rent here for 2 years than was charged additional week when I moved out 3 months prior to my end of lease. Patty Schmit said she'd take care of it & would get my apt rented & I was paid up since I moved out early but was in it for her commission. Doorman were nice but complacent after awhile. Too busy talking to each other than to grab the door. Kids & dogs over ran the rooftop area when they weren't even supposed to be allowed. People smoked up there & in apts even though it was a non smoking building. Place is a big rip off. They should've appreciated a good tenant but they were & are greedy.

Pros:

I have lived at the Corner since it opened - around 7 years ago and could not be happier living here. The building is kept immaculate by the super friendly and attentive staff and our friends are always 'wowed' when they come into the lobby. Can't wait to get back on the roof - the best view in the city and really excited about the new roof furniture and BBQ - bring on summer!I really don't know why some other folks had a bad time here because from the leasing staff to the super, the door guys, the cocktail parties and brunch parties they have for us - I honestly couldn't be happier. If I could give it 6 stars I would!. It's a very special building...

Cons:

This place should be ashamed. I was a resident for several years here, but there came a point where I had to move out of state several months prior to my lease termination. I continued paying rent and tried to find a replacement tenant (even hiring a third party broker), but was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the Corner leasing office did nothing to try to find a replacement tenant, despite my notifying them, which is contrary to state landlord/tenant law. Eventually, after continuing to pay rent in a building I had vacated months ago, I asked the Corner to forgive the last month that was left on the lease. Patti said "she'd get back to me." She never did. Later, I got a call from a collections company called IQ Data harassing me with threats. (IQ Data, it should be noted, has been sued dozens of times for predatory and abusive practices). I'm considering my legal options at the moment, including demanding return of my security deposit, which was never given. You should know a few more practical things:- soundproofing is terrible, and you can hear everything on Broadway- the place is infested with roaches, even on the higher floors. If you're shown a tour of the rooftop, pay VERY close attention to what is scurrying around on the ground up there to get an idea of what I'm talking about.- apartments are undersized for the priceSo if you don't mind paying top dollar for a loud, roach-infested apartment and for a management company that won't work with you if you ever have to terminate your lease early (and indeed won't even follow basic state landlord/tenant laws and take reasonable steps to find a replacement tenant), by all means, rent a room at the Corner.P.S., the front desk staff is top notch, so no complaints there. But stay away from this place otherwise.

Pros:

Great brand new amenities

Cons:

Dealing with the management is tough, and they have weird rules about using the rooftop terrace for example. Sometimes they just close it in the middle of the day for no reason and throw everyone out. They are hard to communicate with and often rude.

Pros:

This is the place to be in NYC. My partner and I have moved apartments almost every year of our 12 year relationship together. We have been at 111 Kent for almost 3 years so that says something. We love the view of Manhattan from the apartment. I love having two elevators for a building that is only 7 stories tall. The rooftop is amazing, and the staff that work here make you feel appreciated and taken care of.

Pros:

111 Kent has been an amazing place to call home! After living in Midtown Manhattan for 12 years, Williamsburg has been an exciting change of pace. It's no less vibrant, but its relaxed, friendly and has a neighborhood vibe that was lacking in Midtown. With so much new construction, choosing a place in North Williamsburg was difficult, but I picked 111 Kent because:1. This particular location along the River allows for quick access to the L train as well as epic summer sunset views. An added bonus: during hot summer days it's always much cooler along the river than it is 3 or 4 blocks inland. 2. The apartments here were built to a high standard. Other neighboring rental buildings seem to have used cheap interior finishes/materials, but my apartment at 111 Kent feels more like a condominium.3. Instead of wall units, my apartment has the HVAC components integrated into the ceiling. This might not sound like a big deal, but it allows for all of my floor space to be utilized and the A/C system makes almost no noise. It's a real luxury!4. The floor plan of my apartment is unique and provides tons of light---even in the depths of winter. It's very different than some of the cookie-cutter spaces I saw in other properties.5. The staff is both friendly and responsive. Problems I have encountered have been dealt with immediately and without hassle. I cannot say enough good things about the 111 Kent staff!6. The building just underwent a significant makeover which made big difference, particularly in the hallways and corridors. Friends who thought I was crazy to move out of Manhattan are now constantly asking to come visit me in Williamsburg which makes me happy to have picked 111 Kent for my Brooklyn home.
