Pros:

This building is great! If you're on the 56th street side, there's a stop sign in the middle of the street, which means that traffic is slow and there's not much street noise. The doormen are some of the friendliest and most helpful you'll find anywhere, and the residents of the building tend to be quiet.

Cons:

Some downsides are, if you're looking to rent, the approval process takes a lot of time, and, compared to a no-fee building, we were looking at up-front fees that were equivalent to an extra $1k/month in rent for the first year. Also, the floor numbers are inflated to make it seem like you're higher up than you really are -- Metro Tower was one of the first buildings to copy Trump and bump up floor numbers to make it seem like you're higher than you really are.The story goes that Trump Tower was built to be shorter than the GM building next door. When Trump said "My building looks a little small, can you make my building taller?" he was told "no", so he skipped ten floors to make the building seem taller. Macklowe's Metro Tower opened a year later and he one-upped Trump by juicing his numbers by eleven floors.I wouldn't care about the number if it were real, but I can't stand that they're dishonest about it.
