Cons:

Horrific concierge. Have owned here for seven years and went in yesterday and no one recognized me. Just a bunch of nasty assholes.

Pros:

Lived here at The Plaza for thirty years! Unparallel views from up high. They are finally beginning to be more diversified with younger families. Allowing a few approved dogs, even though they say a no dog building. Great seasonal rooftop swimming pool, which is lively in the summertime. Dark gym in the basement. The gym was formerly on the Skytop with glorious sunshine and city views, the Board decided to replace the sky top gym w storage lockers, and the gym moved to windowless basement next to a garage. I'll never understand why the lockers got unsurpassed views, and the gym got the dark basement. Most of our doormen are happy to be working. There is a percentage of the Union employees that seemingly resent the Plaza 400 tenants. Tips seem to help their attitude. However, their actions can be extremely annoying! We've had plenty of complaints on certain doormen, but Union wins above quality of service. Same goes to the front office. Management has finally been replaced! The nightmare stories should have subsided. All in all, good location, good security, good maintenance. They do have rules upon rules. If you don't like rules. Do not live here.

Pros:

We lived here for several years and it is one of the best buildings in New York. Yes, there are older people in the building. It is a mature building. If I wanted to live with hipsters, 4 dogs to an apartment and immature people with no consideration for their neighbors I wouldn't have lived here. Spectacular views, concierge and door man amenities. Safety, cleanliness and elegance. Well run building. I would move back in a second.
